School History

  

Maralal High School started in January, 1969 as a Harambee school with a student population of 40 boys and officially opened on 2nd January 1969 by the then minister of Education Hon. J.G.Kiano.

Maralal High School was the first school to be established in Samburu District and was initiated by the local community through Harambee. The school became a fully-fledged Government school in 1976 and was officially opened by the then vice president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

Maralal became a high school in 1986 with the first A –levels arts class. The school was upgraded to National school in the year 2013.
